A COMMUNITY RESOURCE & LEARNING CENTRE

CareerworksNova Partners

The building and maintaining of community partners is a top priority at CareerworksNova. There is a strong level of support that currently exists between us and these partners as they have been developed through years of liaison at various levels, from financial agreements, contract negotiations and monitoring of activities to support in areas of information sharing and client referrals.

Regardless of the type of relationship or level of support we rely on all of these partnerships in order to provide effective Employment Assisted Services to our clients.
Funding Partners

Department of Labour and Workforce Development
Employment Nova Scotia Division

CareerworksNova is funded by the Department of Labour and Workforce Development - Employment Nova Scotia Division. Employment Nova Scotia offers a range of Employment Benefits and Support Measures to help Nova Scotians find and maintain employment.

Chignecto-Central Regional School Board

With the support of the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board CareerworksNova has been operating out of our 60 Lorne Street location since we began in 1999. The school board is a significant partner in that we are able to provide our clients with a location that is large enough to accommodate their needs such as boardrooms for workshops, a computer lab and offices for one on one counseling. In addition, the space is accessible for walk in clients and is located in a building that also houses other government services including Service Canada and Employment Nova Scotia as well as other educational and community services. Our clients benefit from a one-stop shop at our location and that has proven to be a great asset for us and for the community.

Community Partners

CareerworkNova collaborates with our community partners through the support of mutual clients by maintaining relationships in areas where services and programs overlap, through enhancing professional development and training opportunities for clients and staff, through promotional and event planning efforts, as well as, other activities that enable us to serve similar mandates and goals.

These connections provide ongoing resources to CareerworksNova, they increase our knowledge of community programs and allow us to continually grow and improve our services to our clients.

Other CRCs in Nova Scotia

In addition to these partnerships within Colchester County CareerworksNova also works with other Career Resource Centres across the province to collaborate on idea generation, professional development, and mainly in the sharing of resources and information.

The CRC logo can be found throughout this province and is an indication of this collaboration. It reflects the work that has been done to bring consistency to programs and service delivery regardless of which CRC you visit.

This sharing of information occurs regularly at the Northern Region level which encompasses the CRCs in Truro, Amherst, New Glasgow, Elmsdale, Antigonish, Tatamagouche and Guysborough due to our geographical location that leads to cross County job and educational opportunities and often mutual clients.
